"10 Ways to Beat Worry, Increase Happiness and Enjoy Your Life Everyday"
By Dr. Melinda C. Hill

You can enjoy your life; no matter your circumstances, whether good or bad, you can have joy.  To recap how to beat worry, increase happiness and enjoy your life every day, the first step is to get rid of worry.  I defined worry as a lack of trust or faith.  When we worry, we become anxious and take on more than we can handle.    We are in essence telling God, “I really don’t trust You to take care of this situation; it’s too big for You, so let me handle this one”.

Most of us are a little guilty of carrying around our share of worry.  So, what are we supposed to do with the worry?  Well, if you are interested in reading one of the best-selling books of all time, one of the greatest self-help books on the planet, then read The Bible where it says in I Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

I don’t know about you, but for me, this is a no-brainer.  In addition, since it's Christmas, the season for giving, I’m all into freely giving worry away. Life is full of so many complexities; whether it’s a failing relationship, complications in one’s health, conflict with a boss, a rebellious teenager, whatever the case may be; life can throw some serious curve balls.  We have all of these issues on one hand and on the other hand, we have the creator of the entire universe telling us to cast our cares and worries on Him because He cares about us.  When I looked up the definition of cast, it means to throw something forcefully in a specific direction.

Well, let me paint you a picture.  Remember the story of David and Goliath?  Well, David found 5 smooth stones and hurled them at Goliath’s head (maybe not his head, but you get the picture).  Call me David, I am hurling every single worry, every single concern, every single thing, I am casting it in the direction of my Heavenly Father. He can handle it.
